Engineering, 3D Printing and Whatever I’m Building Next
A home for my engineering projects, experiments and occasionally overcomplicated solutions — from the Titan tool scanner and custom workshop equipment to 3D printing, electronics and the code that makes it all work.
I’ll endeavour to finish one project at a time, although that invariably does not happen. I should probably get better at documenting it all, too.
My greatest achievement so far is probably the Titan Tool Scanner. My magnum opus, if you will.
What started as a way to avoid manually measuring every tool in my toolbox somehow turned into months of experimenting with optics, camera calibration, computer vision, Python, 3D printing and an increasingly ridiculous number of calibration points.
The scanner itself is now essentially complete and producing real-world results. There are still a few small jobs left on the Gridfinity Generator, but the complete workflow is finally there:
Physical tool → scan → calibrated profile → Gridfinity insert → print.
Now I suppose I actually have to organise the toolbox.
